About Reverand Rowoldt

Reverend Rowoldt was born in Egg Harbor City, NJ. His enlistment in the Regular Army began on March 23, 1946. During the Occupation he served in Japan in the Training Cadre, lecturing incoming troops on the history and culture of the Japanese people, and the reasons for the occupation. He received the WWII Victory/Army of Occupation medal Japan. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 7, 1947.

Reverend Rowoldt returned to the United States where he enrolled in the Pre-Seminary Program at Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE, in 1949. He then attended Central Lutheran Theological Seminary at Fremont, graduated, and was ordained as a Pastor on May 10, 1955. He went on to serve churches throughout Kansas and Nebraska. He married wife Marian in 1952. They have two children and two grandchildren. Although Reverend Rowoldt formally retired from active ministry in 1985, he has since served as Department Chaplain (the result being this book!), received his Doctorate of Ministry, and had a private counseling practice in Columbus, NE, for 13 years. He also serves as supply pastor for various churches in Nebraska.

Reverend Rowoldt continues to be active in supporting the military, as a member of the American Legion, VFW, 40/8, and is a Lifetime Charter Member of the WWII Memorial. Reverend Rowoldt hopes that readers of this book will realize the importance of history and how it relates to events today. He would also like to see readers take an interest in politics to assure God-fearing, America-loving people are elected to public office. He encourages everyone to pray for our leaders, and thank military service-personnel and their families for their service and sacrifices.
